After Elijah Burrell, 8-year-old belonging the Black Knights football team in from Lawrenceville, Ga, scored his first touchdown for his team, he probably expected cheers, but what he didn’t expect was that his team would get penalized for his ‘incorrect act’ of scoring a touchdown…to the tune of $500 and getting their coach suspended.
What’s this about?
It’s known as the ‘Mercy Rule’, which doesn’t allow a team to score more than 32 points more than the other team.
So long to ‘trying your best and working hard’ and hello to leftist sensitivity training.
This ‘enforced sympathy’ is quite a killer for competition and therefore, to one of the very components of our nation. Competition brings out the best in everyone and should never be shut down. If the other team isn’t so good, well, that’s a message to work harder. There should never be a message that if you will be coddled if you don’t.
