Tensions between the U.S. and China continue to increase over the building of artificial islands by Beijing in the South China Sea that appear to be for military purposes. These islands have runways, military equipment and artillery.
The U.S. Navy states that as the islands grow and become more equipped the Chinese become more aggressive towards any surveillance conducted by the United States.
